In 2018 – early 2019 Thumbtack’s brand marketing team was focused primarily on producing creative for traditional media channels. When I arrived change was in the air. Growth Marketing partners were asking for the creative team to shift their effort to producing direct response content to run on Facebook and Instagram. No one on any of the teams knew what the content should look like, sound like, or how to boost conversion.
There was a clear need for a fast, flexible, scalable system for producing mixed format campaigns that would allow the creative team to iterate quickly and scale when they hit their stride.
Partnering closely with the Growth Marketing team, to identify the marketing best practices and goals, I built a presentation ready templated system that would allow in-house creative to be produced in seconds. Global elements allowed iterations to be made to countless files effortlessly. A Performance Branding Guide to direct the content of the ads was the second half of a system that will continue to allow Thumbtack to produce cutting edge DR Ads.
